CogNet 802.11 Testbed
In order to determine the relationships between multiple factors (known and unknown) of IEEE 802.11 networks and the experiences of end-users of these networks, a Testbed has been developed that facilitates the analysis of such factors. The Testbed consists of three basic components:
CogNet Nodes: gather data throughout the Cal(IT)2 building and, in future, other wireless networks on the UCSD campus.
CogNet Controller: a combination of scripts and applications that extract the relevant values from the data gathered by the nodes.
CogNet Repository: a collection of MySQL databases that hold the collected data and allow for easy interfacing with MATLAB for analysis and synthesis of these data.
